Assalamy aleikum Dear Parents,
The Art Club is starting today at 3:45 inshallah, thank you for registering your kids in the club. Please read the club objectives, and for all my kids let have some fun with art.

Art Club Objectives

The main objective of the Art Club is to have fun with art. Art is easy; everyone can do it regardless of age. Pablo Picasso once said that: Every child is an artist the problem is how to remain an artist once he grows. Art is relaxing, teaches how to be patient because it can take numerous house to finish one drawing. Although, there are many reasons why it is good for children to be involved in creating art, the two I will mention are:

The first reason is that art helps children discover the joy of creating. We live in an age of technology, where many kids spend large amounts of time in front of computers, televisions, or video games. Their tendency is to sit and watch. However, we were created to create, and today, especially, young people need opportunities to stimulate their imaginations.
The second reason is that by helping our children learn to draw, we are helping to develop his or her self-esteem and self-confidence. What a great feeling for a child to be able to say, “Look what I did!” or “I can draw that!” I myself gain a sense of accomplishment when I step back and look at what I have been able to do.

We will start with simple two dimensional line drawing using basic art mediums such as: pencils, charcoal pencils and color pencils. Using this simple media we will develop a solid foundation for creating a simple line drawing. Kids will begin to understand that every great painting starts with a simple line drawing. Once they master line drawing technique I will introduce to them shading technique and they will learn how a 2-dimentional drawing can quickly change into a 3-dimetional art piece.
Following this natural progression, the next step will be to start experimenting with color, at that time I will introduce water paints to them. We will devote two or three sessions for painting alone.

Toward the end I want our children to work with sculpture which can be done be reusing left over cardboards, styrofoam, branches, flowers, plastic and so on. The idea of reusing things that are no longer need and create something new out of them is to teach our children the importance of recycling.
Hope it sounds exciding to you (the kids) because it is very exciting to me to be able to explore new art with all of you.
