LEARNING OBJECTIVES: 

The student will:
  • Be exposed to hands-on scientific inquiry in the fields of biology, chemistry, physics, astronomy, nutrition, and health education.
  • Enjoy the fun of conducting scientific experiments
  • Appreciate the magnificence of Allah in his creation and early Muslim contribution to science today


COURSE OUTLINE:


Week 1
·    Bacterial culture of hands and other objects
·   Proper hand washing
Week 2
Columbus day
Week 3
·      Investigation of the results of pervious experiment
·      Learn about Bactria and molds  
·      How dose soap work? Exploration of surface tension
Week 4
·      Elephant Toothpaste (Oxygen release from H2O2)
Week 5
·    Water heat Capacity
Week 6
·    Vinegar and Baking Soda (Bubble pop)
Week 7
·    Sugar Sugar
Week 8
·         TBA


COURSE REQUIREMENTS:
  • 1st grade  and up are welcome
  • Student must be picked up at 4:45 from the cafeteria
  • Materials will be provided by the club director(s)
